Finally finished the weight/comp to replace my moderator. trying to balance work and "our thing" is a hell of an act. Anyway, the gun was disassembled (again)and I thought of finishing all the "preps" that i could think off, including finishing my barrel leade, which i really had no time doing it due time constraints and lack of tools(not to mention the "weekend hike") . i got a hold Richard's drill last weekend and decided to do it including my compensator....nuthin to do anyway since Frank is around.
I did not reach the 80% pellet body before resistance is felt, its more like 60%...well, good enuf. i was tired and sleepy anyway. Weekend is always kinda short if your doin sumthin, like a father expecting his first child, i hurried home from work early to make some quick shots. i was not that hungry so i grabbed my rifle, a stool and target paper. i prepped a box of quick silvers the night before, washing-resizing and some wonder sauce for testing. i set up my target @40yds, got the stool, sat there and was using the utility post as rest. i know its not that steady compared to benchrest for getting data but i only wanted to see if there's any difference. i "prepped" the barrel the night before, obviously i have to fire some shots, so i fired 3shots then 10 more shots and another 10 totaling 23shots using moderator, unsorted quick silvers.
packed up and went back to work...ayayayy!!!!
went back home around 5, grabbed the rifle again, stool and same target paper. this time i used my compensator instead of the moderator. i fired 10shots again from 40yds. i noticed that my POI is about an inch lower compare with the moderator on. but i need more testing, i will have to bring this to the range to see how it groups from 60 and 70yds.
heres the pic guys
the top portion was shot from right to left. 23shots from 40yds. sitting using (hand)post as rest
the bottom group is 10 shots @ 40yds using barrel brake/weight. unsorted, resized quick silver
update ya all later.....
