Hello fellow air gunners. My family and I are moving to the Philippines in a few months. I am US citizen and my wife and kids are dual citizens. I would really like to bring my Marauder Air Rifle with me as checked luggage, but I see conflicting information. With recent changes in the law does anyone know if I can bring it with me. I am willing to register and comply with any required laws.
As a bit of a incentive to help me figure this out, I would also like to offer some space in my luggage if any of you would like me to bring anything over from the US. Let me know if you are interested.
Thank you
Rob

I have not tried bringing in an Air Rifle as checked in luggage. I guess you will have to check on your end where you will be coming from. If they will allow you to do it. You're best bet is send it via cargo but there is still a big risk. I've had luck, having sent one via a balik-bayan box but the gun was dismantled and it was a springer too.

Thank you for the reply Snyper, I can definitely leave the USA with the air rifle properly locked in an appropriate case. However, I am leaning towards taking it apart and put in separate boxes. I was hoping the customs inspectors there would allow me to arrive with it whole and then travel to the province where I could register it with the proper officials. But I am worried that someone will confiscate it. It is not illegal to travel with it as long as you comply with the travel regulations for checked baggage. It appears no one has experience with traveling from overseas with their air rifle, so I promise I will post my experience so the next person looking will have an idea.
If anyone out there has an y experience with traveling or can point me in the right direction where I can get the info I need, It would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, any thoughts on what you guys wish was available over there would be appreciated and again if there is something you guys need me to bring over just let me know. I am sure we can come to an agreement that will allow us both to feel comfortable.
Take care.
I'll be arriving mid August 2015 but I like to have my plan well worked out before I leave.
Take care,
Rob
