Bro, have you tried ordering from HongKong before or from places outside RP? How does Philippine Customs go into play with items ordered from Ebay? Any more extra fees or duties that need to be paid before one can receive the items? I've tried ordering from Europe and Canada for the USA several times and they are pretty straightforward. All costs were already figured into the cost of shipping by the seller with no more additional hassles at the buyer's end. I appreciate your sharing info about your experience on this type of international transactions.

I do not have any recent experience yet especially with the above links and ebay. BUT from receiving stuff going through the postal service is I think a standard process. I think duties and taxes does not apply, that is why when a package arrives (via standard postal service) you will receive a note indicating the package has arrived. You go to the customs section present the note and they find your stuff.
An in-house customs guy will check the package list and if it has commercial value they will compute for duties and taxes based on tariff.
That is why I always request if they can indicate it on the package list "sample item only no commercial value" and hope to get away with it. Once I received a gift from the founder of Japan's blowgun association (a blowgun) good thing I was able to tell them not to put the word "gun" in the waybill. Customs still had it opened and checked as it was list as "blowpipe" dismissed it a personal stuff and sign the release.
You can also try having it listed as "personal effects".
One experience receiving a package from DHL where a vonage (VOIP) modem was sent to me by our office from the US, I was required to pay like P1,250. I argued that, that is office equipment issued by my office, they told me the waybill indicated the item had a $25 value and duties and taxes was computed. An acquaintance told me next time your boss sends you stuff tell him to indicate no "commercial value"
Well that is what I have experienced so far. I will definitely share my experience when I get to order from ebay.
And if anyone has experience do share with us.

@bro snipe72, dili lisud mag palit sa gawas kung naa ta pang bayad, (creidt card, paypal, etc.) the risky part is, can we receive it, or specifically clear customs. On my part here in Davao. I'm trying to see if one of our friends will be able to get his purchase.
I'd like to try it too, but will need to save up for it pa. hehehe
