I'd like to fit silencer on my airgun so I won't disturb neighbours when shooting in the garden. First I'd like to make a thread at the end of the barrel for that so I went to some machinery shop. They told me that they don't have permission to do that. I told about it to my wife and she asked security chief in her company about silencers, and he said to her it's not allowed to have silencer fitted. You know guys, I'm not familiar with some regulations on Philippines, so I'm asking. Can I have silencer on airgun or not?

heres my two cents: it perfectly leagal to have a silencer/supressor for your airgun. there are even drop in silencer/reducers for armscor and valiente available at local sporting goods store.
as why the machine shop turned you down was because they dont have a permit to fabricate one. you must be authorized and FED compliant in order fabricate airgun related jobs. and they just can risk their business. go to airgun repair shop. at least they know what their doing.
but basically you can go anywhere and find a machine shop that will eventually take the job. ask around. for armscor airguns it would cost around 1500 to 2000. I dont think theres a ban on silencer for airguns.

I agree with twoshot, It's just a matter of knowing the right persons to do the job, since you went to a regular machine shop, they wont do that for you.
Another way of putting in a silencer/moderator with out adding some thread to your barrel is a slip-on style. I have one on my Co2 and works great. It has a snug fit and uses a small stop screw to prevent it from popping out.
I sen't you PM by the way.

Thx guys, I'm just asking to make sure. I know that shops are selling silencers so why it supposed to be not allowed? Cost is too high as twoshots says, I saw silencer at 1k in gaisano south. But I want to make my own, just need a guy who will do a thread on a barrel and silencer. I know snyper it can be done as you said, and it will work fine on co2 or pcp. But I'm thinking of barrel cut so need a silencer as a extension for kocking the rifle. So it must be fitted very stable. But if it will be a problem or too expensive in my opinion (u know, when they see foreigner they will ask 400% more), I won't have a choice. I will do as you said. Btw you know good place where they could cut the barrel and do a thread? I got one place, need to go there and ask (beta springs at bajada). And one more thing, i don't know how to check pm's. After log in I cant see any info about pm's.

go to the forum statistic at the bottom of the main page to check your messages.
we could direct you to our machinist re threading of your barrel usual charge 100php as for the cutting of your barrel you need to have it performed by a gunsmith coz it needs to be recrowned after cutting.
fyi beta springs have transferred to sasa

Thank you batmon for helping with pm's. I just sent a pm to snyper about threading. All I need for cutting the barrel is someone with lathe machine and permission to do that. Crown can be easily home made. But If that guy will use lathe for barrel cut he can also do a crown no problem. Oh, I didn't know about beta springs, probably the guy in machinery shop too. Thx
