Since we can't find any supplier here for metallic silhouettes, we decided to get busy and start making them ourselves. With the help of some friends. Here's some pics of the initial phase. Tracing the templates on a steel plate. will post additional pics on the progress. . .

Changed the materials, it is kind of hard to cut around thick metal with just a hacksaw and drill. So I decided to change the material and with nothing to do on a weekend here's the progress. While at it, made some preparations for knockdown targets. Cutting the patterns Another angle (also made some pellet holder for some friends) Prepping the metal for cutting Rough cut, started with the Boar. Still needs to go through the grinder to smooth out the edges. A closer look I plan to use this on a swinger, kinda hard to cut the figures as the metal thickness is 3/16". I should have used 1/8" for easier cutting. Its an experimental job though, now I know better.

After an hour with the grinder (man this job is hard!) made my hands numb. But I love the grinding part, makes 3/16" steel like butter. Finally just need to mount these pieces. The finished silhouette figures in 1/10 scale. A closer view.

Finally, the figures are done and mounted on the swingers, the rings used as counter weights are last minute additions, saw them in the welding shop and thought it would be nice counter weights. The mounting stands are also last minute, since they are just for prototypes. I just wanted to see how the figures work. Used the only available paint at home, metallic red. I wanted it flourescent orange for better clarity. So far the the targets worked great, now just a few revisions and this will be a mainstay in our shooting sessions. Then off the market section, anyone want one. hihihihi
