I have finally been able to get my hands on those local pellets that our more experienced AG shooters are using.
Quick Silver and Super Zero from Hystan cottage products. I have read about these from other forums that they perform exceptionally in competitions so after being able to purchase a box of each. Tried it on my good old Valiente AG. Also used a chrono so I will know the FPS. I would have wanted to weigh the pellets just to make a definitive test. But I guess this will do for now.
Conditions are: 10M distance, AG on gun rest, Chrono setup to read velocity for every shot, Target paper setup so groupings can be observed.
Objective: To be able to make a comparison on different pellet brand and the resulting groupings when used on my rifle.
Pellets used: Quick Silver and Super Zero (Hystan); Silver Streak-Long (Ramsel) and Hammer Head
Here are the pics:
Shooting setup with AG on gun rest and chrono setup.
Groupings of Hammer Head shot at 10M, FPS listed on the target paper. I have noticed that when shooting higher FPS (about 710 and up) groupings are inconsistent, but if it below 710FPS ( ideally 700FPS below) tight groupings are achieved.
Groupings of Silver Streak shot at 10M, FPS listedon the target paper. These pellets are heavy therefore a lower FPS reading and good groups.
Groupings of Quick Silver shot at 10M, FPS listed on the target paper. First two shot are like "cold bore shots" after that consistency is achieved in FPS and groupings.
Groupings of Super Zero shot at 10M, FPS listed on the target paper. Think Super zeroes have just enough weight for the AG I am using considering it gave the best grouping for my AG.
I can conclude that for my AG the best chioce is definitely is Super Zero. I will try to do the testing with longer distance.
