Just before summer ends, WAGS will be holding another event. ..
SUMMER FUN SHOOT 2009
Venue: Dabaw Flower Mart Grounds, Bo. Pampanga, Lanang, Davao City.
Date: May 30, 2009 (Saturday)
Time:8:00am till the afternoon
Format: BENCHREST METALLIC SILHOUETTE (1/10 scale)
Registration Fee: P50.00
Distances covered will be:
Chicken = 30 yards / 27 meters
Boar = 40 yards / 36 meters
Turkey = 46 yards / 42 meters
Ram = 55 yards / 50 meters
NOTE: Bring your own pack lunch and we'll have a salo-salo
Schedule of activities:
8:00 am Registration starts
8:00am - 9:50am Gun calibration can be don on all shoot tables
9:50am - 10:00am CEASEFIRE/Range setup
10:01am - 12:00nn Game proper.
12:00nn - 12:45pm Lunch Break
12:50 - Shooting resumes
Awarding will follow after all shooters are done.
CATEGORIES/AWARDS
OPEN CATEGORY
PCP and MODIFIED Co2 Air Guns are accepted. Unmodified guns can also play if participants is up to the challenge. Trophy Awards will be given to the Champion, 2nd and Third Placers.
Co2 CATEGORY
Co2 guns of any caliber and style (sporter, target, BR, etc.) Modified or stock is allowed. Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded to the three highest scorers in this category.
DOUBLE ENTRY
Should a Co2 shooter opt to join the open as well as the Co2 category, he will need to pay double the registration fee to qualify on both categories. Shooter will only need to shoot once and the resulting score will be valid for both categories. PCP shooter cannot qualify in this opportunity as they have a different class.
RE-FIRE
A player may opt to re-fire, as long as he re-registers. The refire score will be used on the tally and ranking.
Gun qualifications:
Any Airgun that shoots lead pellets/balls in .177 or .22 caliber. Power source may be CO2, PCP, Pneumatic, Break barrel, etc.
Age limit/Class ranking:
There is no age limit on the participants, although minors should be accompanied by parents or guardians. Resulting scores for this event will be used to rank participants in this event.
Game rules:
1. Once a shooter has finished registering, he may start preparing for shooting. For unsighted guns, a designated sighting/zeroing lane will be provided so as not to disrupt playing time.
2. Once there is two or more shooters available they may already start shooting. This way early birds will be able to finish the course without waiting a long time.
3. A minimum of 2 shooters and max of 4 shooters may shoot simultaneously on the bench.
4. Once on the bench, 2 minutes prep time and 3 minutes to shoot one bank (10 silhouettes). Prep time will include 2 zeroing shots on the swinging targets.
5. Scores will be posted on a tally board, at the end of the day the top scores will be declared winners. Deadline for registration of Entrants will be till 2pm.
Course of fire:
1. A shooter is allowed 2 zeroing shots at the swinger (included on the prep time).
2. Once the ready to shoot is announced, shooter must have his gun loaded and aimed for the first shot.
3. Once Fuego! or Fire! is given, shooter will start shooting at targets on the designated bank assigned. Shooting is from Left to right. Only 3 minutes is allowed per bank.
4. Hits are designated 1 and misses 0 on the score sheet.
5. Counted hits are those that will drop a target from the stand, hitting the MS without dropping it is considered a miss.
6. If an MS is missed, it should not be shot again and shooter will move to the next MS beside it. Any error in the sequence will be scored a miss.
7. Once ceasefire is given, all shooters will stop firing. Any shots or hits after the ceasefire is announced will not be scored. All MS not hit on the bank are marked misses on the score sheet.
IMPORTANT: During ceasefire, shooter are advise to safety their AG and open bolt (for bolt type) and open swing (for hammer/swing type). AG muzzle should be pointed upwards when not shooting. This is also the time when fallen MS are arranged downrange. So LET US OBSERVE SAFETY AT ALL TIMES.
8. After ceasefire, shooter will move the next designated table and prepare for the next bank. Cycle is repeated until all banks have been engaged.
9. Cycle will be Chicken-Boar-Turkey-Ram, if a shooter starts on the bank other than the chicken, then he will just rotate the cycle.
10. Once batch is finished, on deck shooter will then prep for the next batch.
Only designated Range officers are allowed downrange to fix targets.
BULLET RICOCHET & DOUBLE HITS
1.) If a target is hit or dropped (other than the intended silhouette) due to a bullet ricochet or target stand is shaken due to bullet impact, that target will be left alone and shooter is advised to shoot the spinner instead. This will prevent any disruption to the game play.
2.)If a silhouette beside the intended target is dropped, it will be considered as part of item #1. There are no "lucky shots" in BR since accuracy is the name of the game. Only direct hits with targets falling from the stands are scored.
TIE SCORES
In the event there is a tie on any of the top three scores for any category a shoot will be done to determine who will be awarded. It will be a man versus man speed shoot off.
