Dunno if that is the right spelling. I have always been facinated by the quality of this Airgun especially the ones copied on the Crossman 160 design. I've seen a few that has seen better times.
Like this one, the third gun from right is a Rodson with a monte carlo stock.
I was lucky to get a chance in handling a well preserved piece and this particular unit is a scandalous beast. It has been setup maybe for hunting as it is a CO2 guzzler. About 7-8 shots per fill. This was actually owned by the boss of a friend and when they purchased my scope (A replica bushnell 4-16x40AO), they asked me to install and zero it for them. Of course I would not pass the chance to get my hands on this baby.
Here are some pics I took:
Left side:
Right Side:
A closer view of the Thumbhole stock
Top view
Close up shot of the bolt
Closer view of the forend, when this was purchased, there were no rust marks.
Another view of the gun lying on its side.
Bottom View of the gun.
Closer view of the tigger.
Here shown with the scope mounted. I purposely reversed the lock screw of the mount that is why it faces away from the bolt.
Another view of the gun with the scope.
A view through the scope, target is at 30 meters. Scope set at 16x magnification, parallax adjusted for better clarity. Forgot to adjust the camera to get a clearer, detailed pic.
A view of a target at 42 meters
We didn't have much time to do some thorough shot comparison. It was a gloomy day, windy and the pygmy tank load is not that good. But at 30 meters this baby can hit a 25c coin dead center. Assuming a fresh load from the pygmy tank.
I will take more data on this gun when my F1 chrony arrives. That way we can determine its power.
I don't know if there are other models of this brand, I was only particular of this model as it has the same action as the Crosman 160 a classic. If you have pics and review of other Rodson Models please do post it here.
Thanks.
